£65,000 fine for permit breaches tops latest spate of waste offences

The courts have been kept busy again, dealing with another string of prosecutions for waste offences. London-based Hinkcroft Transport received the biggest fine.

South London-based Hinkcroft Transport faced the largest bill. It appeared at Croydon crown court on 28 April and pleaded guilty to two charges. For breaching sections 12(2) and 38(2) of the Environmental Permitting Regulations (England and Wales) 2007 and 2010, it was fined £65,000 with £22,837 costs.
