Hurdles to meeting water targets mapped

The Environment Agency has set out points that need to be resolved if waters are to meet objectives set by the EU water framework Directive. These “significant water management issues” range from nutrient overload to overexploitation of shellfish beds, polluting minewater discharges and proliferating alien species.
