The Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) expects applications for two more biomass plants this year.

Danish firm DONG Energy intends to apply for consent to build a 300-megawatt capacity plant in Hull. MGT Power is set to apply for a 295MW plant in the Port of Tyne. Details of the proposals emerged in May in an updated list of expected projects.1

Last year, RES Ventures said it intends to apply for consent to build a 100MW plant in Blyth (ENDS Report 417, p 6).
