Australia puts off emissions trading

The centrepiece of Australia’s new climate policy under Labour prime minister Kevin Rudd, the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS), will be put off by a year until July 2011. This follows months of pressure from industry concerned at its possible cost in a severe recession.
