Government scraps existing homes’ energy efficiency plan

The communities department (DCLG) has dropped plans to make homeowners improve the energy efficiency of their entire home when building an extension. Housing is responsible for 27% of UK CO2 emissions; this expected change to the building regulations had been seen as offering a significant saving.
