Proof of deca pollution as electrics ban confirmed

A Swiss study has provided evidence that the flame retardant deca-BDE is breaking down to form toxic and bioaccumulative by-products. Meanwhile, the European Commission has agreed to drop its opposition to a ban on the use of the compound in electrical goods.
