Green groups believe that achieving an 80% cut in global greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 will require steep cuts in all emission sources - including the 20% from tropical forest destruction. WWF estimates this requires net emissions from the tropical land-use sector to be cut to zero by 2025-2030.
