Arctic ice second lowest on record
The area of Arctic Ocean covered by ice was the second lowest on record as ENDS went to press, according to data from the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Boulder.1 Satellites have been used to keep accurate records of Arctic ice since 1979.
