Sustainable drainage could tackle oil pollution
Sustainable systems for road drainage should be designed to degrade oils by using strips, swales and basins, new research suggests. Such aerobic systems cut sediment arisings and contaminant levels more than ponds and wetlands, leading to reduced maintenance costs.
