Turbine upgrade and co-firing to cut Drax<br> CO<SUB>2</SUB> emissions by 3 million tonnes

Drax Power is to spend £100 million replacing the low and high pressure turbines on all six of the power station’s units. The power station is the biggest single industrial source of CO2 in the UK and emitted nearly 21MtCO2 in 2005 (ENDS Report 376, pp 12-13 ).
