More licensing exemptions for agwastes

The waste management licensing regulations have been amended to allow exemptions for more agricultural wastes.1

From 2 May, exemptions will be available for disposing of pesticide solutions into lined biobeds and spreading those biobeds onto land. Landspreading ash from pig and poultry carcass incineration and dredging spoil from farm ditches will also be exempt.

The regulations also amend parts of the Clean Air (Emission of Dark Smoke) (Exemption) Regulations 1969.
