New inquiry on renewable energy technologies

An inquiry into renewable energy technologies is to be undertaken by the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee.

It will examine the current state of all renewables - the committee’s definition extending to "intelligent grid management" and energy storage systems.

It will also look at the feasibility, costs and timescales involved in commercialising technologies and the government’s role in funding research and development and providing commercialisation incentives.
