Arctic sea ice falls to record low

The total area of sea ice floating on the Arctic Ocean reached to a new low this summer, according to the US National Snow and Ice Data Center at the University of Colorado, Boulder.1 Satellite monitoring has revealed it is 17% smaller than the previous record set in 2005.
