DTI carbon emissions forecasts rise again
The latest official projections1 confirm the UK is way off target to meet its 2010 goal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20%. A cut of just 10.6% is now anticipated as higher coal burn in the power sector and slow progress on energy efficiency blow a hole in the government's climate ambitions.
