HBCD burden in porpoises rises after BDE ban
Residues of the brominated flame retardant HBCD in porpoises have increased significantly since 1994, according to a study by the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture (CEFAS).1 The rise coincides with the withdrawal of two brominated diphenyl ether (BDE) alternatives.
