DEFRA sets timetable for Thames sewage decision
The government has at last committed to a scheme to address sewage overflows to the Thames in London, under threat of prosecution by the European Commission. Two schemes are under consideration - both with price tags of around £1.5 billion - and a final decision will be made by the end of the year.
