Slow start for Minosus underground site
The Minosus underground hazardous waste facility in Cheshire received just 10,000 tonnes of waste in its first year, 10% of its capacity. It could take slag from lead-acid battery recycling - one of the two 'orphan' waste streams - but the Environment Agency would prefer it to be sent to landfill.
