Cracked sewers and illegal discharges cost water companies £87,500

Thames Water has been fined £18,000 with £2,015 in costs for polluting the river Kennet with sewage sludge. United Utilities, Anglian, Wessex, Severn Trent and Scottish Water have also been fined in recent weeks.
