Cambridgeshire to sell landfill allowances

Cambridgeshire County Council expects to become the first local authority to sell allowances under the landfill allowance trading scheme in February - two months before the scheme is due to start. The council says it is selling them now to "reap a small profit" in case the market becomes flooded with allowances.
