Clean neighbourhoods Bill gets second reading

The Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Bill had its second reading in the House of Commons on 10 January. The Tories claimed that the new powers for local authorities are too weak, and that authorities will lack the resources to implement them. The Opposition also plans to fight provisions removing the requirement for authorities to privatise waste disposal operations.
