Fly-tipping costs councils £50m per year
The clearest picture so far on the extent of fly-tipping in England has been released by the Environment Department (DEFRA), based on the first six months’ operation of its Flycapture database. Councils are spending some £50 million per year to remove 75,000 fly-tips per month.
