Retailers propose solutions for REACH imports
Organisations representing retailers in the UK and across Europe are putting forward separate proposals for dealing with the vexed question of imported articles under the EU’s proposed regime on the registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemicals (REACH). The two bodies fail to agree on the detail of a common proposal but they agree on a framework that would require producers and importers of consumer articles to discover whether high-risk chemicals are in their products.
