EHOs slam ‘flawed’ guidance on sewage odours
Environmental health officers have condemned draft DEFRA guidance on odours from sewage treatment works as "fundamentally flawed". Although the guidance gained broad approval from the water industry, Ofwat and the Environment Agency, local authorities say it is biased toward sewerage undertakers and misunderstands the statutory nuisance regime.
