Progress on POPs at Stockholm Convention’s first meeting
Parties to the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants met in May for the first time since the Convention was ratified last year. The meeting established a committee to review new candidate chemicals to be banned or severely restricted under the treaty, and set in train moves to include four new compounds.
