UK wins wrangle over military nuclear facilities

In a dispute between the UK and the European Commission, the European Court of Justice has held that the Euratom Treaty covers only civilian nuclear facilities. The decision will be a blow to those who argue that the environmental protection provisions contained in Euratom will be severely weakened if defence facilities are excluded.
