Coking works fined £13,500 for sulphur dioxide breach

Monckton Coke and Chemical Company, based near Doncaster, has been fined £13,500 after breaching limits set by the Environment Agency on emissions of sulphur dioxde. The incident led to complaints of smells and breathing difficulties and may have contributed to local breaches of the SO2 air quality objective.
