Agency in hot water over nappy LCA
An Environment Agency life-cycle assessment which claims that there is no real difference between reusable and disposable nappies has been strongly criticised by organisations - including the Government's Waste and Resources Action Programme - which argue that reusable nappies that are washed and used in a way that minimises their environmental impact are preferable.1 The Agency's message that manufacturers of disposables and users of reusables alike should further reduce their environmental impacts was ignored by a national media intent on telling reusable users they might as well not bother.
