Study finds limited scope for energy saving in heavy industry

Cost-effective measures by heavy industry could reduce CO₂ emissions by only 6% by 2010, according to a study for the Environment Department (DEFRA).¹ The potential saving is barely enough to offset the expected growth in industrial emissions over the same period.
