Scotland and Northern Ireland report on drinking water
Scotland and Northern Ireland reported on drinking water quality for 2004 in July. Slight improvements were found in both areas, but new regulations implementing the 1998 EU drinking water Directive changed the parameters and monitoring requirements, so the results are not directly comparable with previous years.
