Commission clamps down further on particle emissions from cars

The European Commission is proposing deep cuts in particulate emissions from new diesel cars, under new Euro V emissions standards to come into force in 2008.¹ It also wants the new rules to apply to sports utility vehicles, which until now have been covered by less stringent limits for light commercial vehicles.
