Restrictions on phthalates in toys and medical devices move closer
A political agreement on the so-called phthalates Directive between MEPs and Council of Ministers officials was approved by the European Parliament during its second reading on 5 July. The Directive will ban certain phthalates in toys and childcare items - and commits the European Commission to review other products made from plasticised PVC, especially those used in medical devices.
