Vandalism leads to £13,000 fine for oil spill

Diesel generator hire firm Generator Power was fined £13,000 by Warrington Magistrates on 21 July for an oil spill which occurred after vandals broke into its premises in Woolston. The company pleaded guilty to causing water pollution under sections 85(1) and 85(6) of the Water Resources Act 1991 and was ordered to pay £1,720 in costs.
