Pollution inventory reveals top hazardous waste producers

The largest producers of hazardous waste have been revealed in ENDS' analysis of the Environment Agency's pollution inventory. The largest was Syngenta's agrochemicals works in Huddersfield, which produced almost 50,000 tonnes in 2004. The inventory will provide a useful yardstick to track changes in industrial waste practices under new EU requirements.
