IPCC cautious on carbon capture and storage

Carbon capture and storage could play an important role in averting global warming, according to a major report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.1 But much work needs to be done to integrate the technologies - and the option will not take off unless a significant long-term value is assigned to abating CO2 emissions.
