Climate talks keep Kyoto show on the road

The UN climate change conference in Montreal has revived prospects for a legally binding framework on developed nations' emissions beyond 2012, when the Kyoto Protocol targets expire. Progress was also made on reforming the Clean Development Mechanism and agreeing the Kyoto "rule book" - but there was little concrete movement on bringing the USA and major developing countries into a future agreement.
