CIA mulls mandatory third party certification of Responsible Care

The Chemical Industries Association looks increasingly likely to require member companies to have their management systems independently certified as complying with the requirements of Responsible Care, following the example of the US chemical industry. However, at variance with US practice, the CIA has set its face against publishing performance data on individual companies, despite recommendations by a Whitehall-industry working group.
