Financial provisions and waste companies in liquidation

The High Court has given its judgment in a test case determining who has access to funds set aside for environmental remediation works where a company goes into liquidation. By holding in effect that in law nobody has access to the funds, the court has underlined the unsatisfactory nature of the current legal position when waste companies go into liquidation.
