Breakthrough on environmental behaviour of perfluorochemicals

Canadian researchers have shown that perfluorinated chemicals are much more volatile than predicted and that they can easily be transported to remote regions via the atmosphere. Other new findings suggest that industrial processes like carpet and paper coating are important sources and that the impacts of contamination on humans and wildlife could be serious.
