DTI innovation review seeks to plug gaps in renewables strategy
An official review of renewable energy sources sets out plans to focus support on technologies seen as offering the greatest environmental and economic potential to 2050. Wind power is expected to remain the dominant renewable until 2020, but the Government is proposing a policy U-turn to build a biomass industry on proven technology. But wave and tidal developers are concerned that they may miss the boat - and the photovoltaics lobby fears that the Government is preparing to cut it adrift.
