Loophole in PPC regulations closed

Regulations closing a loophole which allowed operators who were illegally running industrial installations to be issued automatically with a pollution prevention and control (PPC) permit came into force in March.1 The Environment Department (DEFRA) consulted on the amendment last year (ENDS Report 345, p 41 ).
