Sellafield discharge saga comes to a close
The controversial discharge of technetium-99 from BNFL's Sellafield works has effectively come to an end. After eight years of wrangling, the Environment Agency and the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate have approved a new waste treatment technique which will reduce discharges by 90%.
