Football frenzy hits fuel consumption
England fans who were keen to demonstrate their support for the national football team at the Euro 2004 championship did rather less to help the environment. Tests by the BBC's Top Gear magazine showed that a car flying two England flags suffers a 2% drop in engine efficiency when travelling at 60mph because of aerodynamic drag.
