Chemical grouts in the firing line in latest EU risk reduction strategies

Risk reduction strategies for the latest batch of 11 chemicals to be assessed under the EU's "existing substances" programme have been published by the European Commission.1 They include novel proposals for regulating chemical grouts used in construction applications following a serious groundwater pollution incident during the building of a tunnel in Sweden seven years ago.
