Brown finds cash for Carbon Trust, but gives and takes on waste

New cash to help businesses minimise waste and increase energy efficiency - including a big boost for the Carbon Trust - was announced by Chancellor Gordon Brown in his comprehensive spending review. The Department for Transport now has shared responsibility for delivering the Government's climate change targets - but new funding for waste reduction activities is balanced by a requirement for £300 million in efficiency savings on waste services.
