Comet and Currys dabble with in-store take-back for WEEE

Major electrical retailers Comet and Currys are running pilot schemes for in-store take-back of electrical goods to see if such schemes are worth establishing instead of, or in addition to, the retailer compliance scheme for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) proposed by the British Retail Consortium. Comet could roll out the scheme nationwide, and believes it could develop into a service for appliance producers and compliance schemes.
