MPs trade insults over REACH

A lively debate on REACH, the EU's proposed chemicals registration and evaluation scheme, heard a Conservative MP reject the conclusions of a report by the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee of which he is a member. His outburst drew insults both from the Committee's chairman and Environment Minister Alun Michael, and forced the official Tory spokesman to distance himself from his colleague.
