DEFRA lacks clout and influence, say MPs

The Environment Department (DEFRA) is failing to influence key areas of Government policy - notably on transport - which are of vital importance to sustainable development, according to a report by the House of Commons' Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee.1 DEFRA is also in danger of missing targets on climate change, waste and air quality.
