Remediation contractor fined for breach of abstraction consent

A land remediation firm cleaning up a site for Tesco has been fined £3,000 after failing to meet the monitoring requirements of an abstraction consent. The firm was prosecuted in spite of the fact that Tesco held the consent and was responsible for the related monitoring work.
