Wessex fined for breaching abstraction rules

Wessex Water admitted failing to meet terms of its abstraction licences at two reservoirs in Somerset before Bridgwater magistrates. The company faced four charges of failing to meet the conditions of abstraction consents, contrary to section 24(4)(b) of the Water Resources Act 1991.
