Chemicals and landfill firms face up to effluent toxicity testing

About 10% of chemicals companies which have been through integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) permitting are having to follow the Environment Agency's protocol for testing the toxicity of effluent discharges. The Agency has also released a list of sites already operating with toxicity conditions - which surprisingly includes several landfill sites.
